“At any one time, 750,000 individuals are estimated to be looking to connect with children online for sexual purposes, a challenge so large – and so complex – that no one entity can solve it alone”, the Global Partnership to End Violence Against Children said in supporting Safer Internet Day.
CarersEd has Child Protection and Safety Networks training that can support community members and mandatory reporters to identify children at risk and to have conversations with children to facilitate a safety network of adults that they can talk to if they feel worried about anything they experience online.

The sad fact is that online exploitation begins at home for many kids, and in those cases their parent is the last person who can be trusted to keep them safe. One study of 150 adult survivors, who indicated they had appeared in sexual abuse material as children, found 42% identified their biological or adoptive/stepfather as the primary offender
At CarersEd we train our participants to recognise children who are being or have been abused in our Mandatory and Community Reporters course. We also empower adults to empower children to develop their own safety network of adults to talk to if they aren't feeling safe.

The office of E-safety claim that 40% of children between the age of 12 and 17 have had at least one negative experience online, and often this has occurred with parents nearby. “Our investigators can hear the parents’ voices in the next room,” said Julie Inman Grant, the country’s eSafety commissioner. “This is happening under parents’ noses, in the home.”
Thankfully, the children surveyed are now more likely to be proactive in dealing with what they see.
CarersEd has "Safety Networks" training which helps adults to empower children to take action if they feel unsafe by developing a network of trusted adults that they can talk to.

Schoolyard bullies have been making life difficult for kids for eons, often causing lasting damage to their victims. Now, new research shows these bullies can also suffer lasting consequences as they age.
At CarersEd we empower adults to support children to identify their safety network of adults that they can turn to if they are being bullied or unsafe in any way.
