In NSW and QLD you do not have mandatory reporting obligations but you are well placed to observe children who may be showing indicators of abuse or risk of abuse.
It is important as adults to be able to recognise indicators of abuse and understand the dynamics of Child Abuse so you know how to do something about reporting and so that you can ensure all procedures are appropriate.
Given the physical nature of teaching children, it is also important to be aware of appropriate techniques to minimise the risk to children and potential allegations against staff and the organisation.
